Lots of exciting stuff going on at HUB-BUB right now.  I’ll be back in a few days to talk about the upcoming AiR Entry Show (July 15th, 7-9pm) and the AiR Art Talk (July 21) but today I’d like to encourage you to sign up for the bookmaking workshop we’ll have here on July 17th.

The workshop will be led by Elvia, Alisa, and and Elena – three Bard College grads who are traveling the country to research and investigate marginalized areas of American art.  Learn more about them and their project here.

So – they’ll be arriving in Spartanburg on the 16th and will run a workshop here at HUB-BUB on Saturday the 17th.  the workshop will cover various bookmaking techniques including: a clam shell box, accordion book/concertina binding, coptic stitch, secret belgium binding, perfect binding, and more.  Participants will walk away with their own handmade books.  Lunch and supplies will be provided.  $40 workshop fee or $30 for students.  What a steal!  To sign up – e-mail Alix (  We’re limiting this to the first 15 folks to sign up…
